divh2Construction Inspection Specialist (Flex Staff)/h2pCDM Smith is looking for Inspectors to provide independent, professional construction inspection and oversight of Federal Construction Projects with agencies such as USACE, AFCEC, and NAVFAC. This is a pipeline requisition for future projects. The Construction Inspection Specialist documents inspection findings and communicates issues to project leadership. The role requires applying broad professional knowledge of construction practices to meet client needs, clearly communicating project progress and issues to diverse functional teams and project leadership, and ensuring projects are delivered successfully, safely, and in compliance with applicable requirements. Work is performed independently under limited supervision./ppJob Duties:/pulliConducts on-site inspections of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects as well as related civil structures (roads, dams, bridges, facilities, utilities, etc.) to verify compliance with approved design specifications, industry standards, safety codes, and applicable federal regulations./liliDocuments inspection results inclusive of deficiencies, deterioration, structural condition, deviations between design and execution of construction, required corrective actions and any needed sampling./liliReview contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material certifications in coordination with engineers and project management teams./liliMonitors construction progress, prepares and maintains detailed daily reports, deficiency notices, project status reports, and technical recommendations./liliInspects and verifies construction materials and testing processes (concrete breaks, compaction testing, welding/joint inspections, pressure testing, etc.) to ensure compliance with specifications and standards./liliOversees and coordinates field construction related services on projects, enforcing adherence to safety, environmental, quality control, and permitting requirements./liliConducts site investigations, reviews relevant data including maps, reports, test results, drawings and others as required./liliParticipates in pre-construction meetings, design reviews, technical assessments, safety meetings, and project closeout/punch list activities./liliEnsures compliance with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety, etc. and delivers technical files and other technical documentation as required./liliDevelops, trains, and mentors junior construction professionals, provides technical direction, and serves as a liaison between contractors, engineering staff, and client./liliPerforms other duties as required./li/ulpMinimum Qualifications:/pulliHigh School Diploma/liliAt least 5 years of relevant construction experience. Domestic travel is required.
