Job Description

Criminal Defense Attorney — Fort Lauderdale & Miami

Ready to fight for freedom, protect futures, and join a powerhouse team making a real impact?

At Rossen Law Firm, we don’t just defend cases — we defend people.

We stand beside good people when bad things happen, and we fight relentlessly to help them protect their rights, their reputations, and their futures.

As we expand our award-winning criminal defense team in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, we’re looking for an attorney who’s fearless in the courtroom, relentless in preparation, and deeply committed to our mission, culture, and clients.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Purpose-driven work helping good people rebuild their lives and futures
  • An elite team of passionate professionals who have your back — in and out of court
  • Cutting-edge systems in an AI-native, innovative law firm
  • Real opportunities for career growth, mentorship, and leadership development
  • Positive, driven culture that celebrates success and teamwork

Who You Are

You’re not looking for “just another job.” You want to make a difference — to stand up in court and stand beside the clients. You thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment where excellence, honesty, and accountability aren’t optional — they’re expected.

You’ll fit right in if you live by our five core values:

Open & Honest

  • You lead with integrity. You communicate clearly and directly — with clients, courts, and colleagues — always telling the truth with professionalism and compassion.

Team First (Wolfpack Mentality)

  • You know defense is a team sport. You build trust, share credit, and support your colleagues. You lift others up and never let a teammate stand alone.

Take Action

  • You move with urgency and purpose. You don’t wait for someone else to solve the problem — you step up, take ownership, and get it done.

Play All In

  • You bring passion and energy to every case. You care deeply about the clients, your craft, and your outcomes — and you refuse to settle for “good enough.”

Get to Yes

  • You’re resourceful, persistent, and creative. You find solutions where others see dead ends. You adapt, innovate, and persevere until justice is served.
Compensation:

$100,000 - $200,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

Client Advocacy & Representation

  • Defend clients in a wide range of criminal cases, including DUIs, domestic violence, sex crimes, drug offenses, and federal matters.
  • Manage every phase of a case—from intake and arraignment to motions, hearings, trial, and appeal.
  • Design and implement legal strategies that protect and advance each client’s future.

Case Management & Preparation

  • Conduct thorough legal research, depositions, and witness preparation.
  • Draft and file persuasive motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Maintain proactive, timely communication with clients, co-counsel, and court personnel.

Courtroom Excellence

  • Represent clients confidently and effectively in court on a regular basis.
  • Deliver clear, strategic, and compelling arguments before judges and juries.
  • Respond quickly and decisively under pressure in adversarial settings.

Client Experience & Communication

  • Build trust through frequent, transparent, and compassionate communication.
  • Provide honest, empowering guidance to clients navigating high-stress situations.
  • Ensure every client feels supported, respected, and valued throughout their case.

Team Collaboration & Culture

  • Partner with attorneys, staff, and leadership to deliver seamless service.
  • Contribute to a positive, growth-oriented culture by living the firm’s core values daily.

Continuous Improvement & Growth

  • Engage in ongoing training through RLF University and professional development programs.
  • Reflect on performance, seek feedback, and pursue mastery.
  • Stay current with legal developments, continuing education, and bar requirements.
Qualifications:

Who You Are:

  • A licensed Florida attorney with 2+ years of criminal defense experience (DUI, sex crimes, federal cases a plus).
  • A fierce advocate who believes in justice and second chances.
  • Detail-oriented, coachable, and hungry to grow personally and professionally.
  • Tech-savvy and efficient—no drama, just results.
