NARFE is seeking a Digital & Social Media Coordinator to digital communications and content distribution across email, websites and social media channels. This role is designed for a detail-oriented digital communicator who enjoys content organization and hands-on social media publishing, and who is eager to grow skills in analytics and multi-channel communications.

The coordinator will help maintain a strong Facebook presence while supporting measured growth on X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Reddit, working within established guidelines and in close collaboration with communications, membership, advocacy, and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

Newsletter Curation & Management

• Curate, organize, and prepare content for NARFE’s weekly email newsletter, currently distributed to 240K recipients.
• Write and edit headlines and summaries to ensure clarity, relevance, and consistency
• Manage newsletter workflows, schedules, and content deadlines
• Build and format newsletters using established templates and brand standards, upholding quality standards.

Social Media Execution & Growth

• Support periodic publishing on Facebook, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely posting
• Assist with expanding reach and engagement on X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Reddit
• Adapt newsletter, magazine, and web content for platform-appropriate social posts
• Help maintain and update content calendars across platforms
• Monitor engagement and route questions or issues to appropriate staff

Digital Communications Support

• Assist with targeted email campaigns and digital announcements
• Coordinate with internal teams to support communications initiatives and campaigns
• Analytics & Learning
• Track basic performance metrics for newsletters, social media, and web content
• Use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to review traffic and engagement trends
• Reference Looker Studio dashboards to support reporting and insights
• Assist with testing across platforms (e.g., subject lines, timing, content placement)

Minimal Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience recommended in digital communications, social media, email marketing, or a related field
• Strong writing and editing skills with close attention to detail
• Experience contributing to newsletters or social media accounts
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative environment
