Job Description

Entry-Level Phlebotomist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient collection and processing of blood and other specimens in a professional setting. This individual will interact with patients and clients in a friendly manner, supporting a positive experience in our Patient Service Center (PSC) or during in-office visits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome and greet patients and clients with warmth and professionalism.
• Perform accurate and timely specimen collections, adhering to established protocols.
• Explain the specimen collection process in a clear and reassuring manner to minimize patient anxiety.
• Ensure safe disposal of biohazardous materials in accordance with regulations.
• Complete requisition forms with precision, entering information into the system while maintaining a high attention to detail.
• Utilize lab systems to verify and research testing information as needed.
• Prepare specimens for transport, ensuring proper labeling and storage conditions are met.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation daily, supporting departmental efficiency.
• Assist with clerical tasks, such as filing and electronic data entry, as required.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to company policies, including grooming and safety standards.
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to ensure safety.
• Contribute to a positive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
• Participate in periodic inventory checks and report any shortages to supervisors.
• Commit to following all compliance programs and security policies to protect patient data.
