Position Overview: Executive Functioning & Academic Coach

 

Central Catholic High School is seeking a compassionate, structured, and skilled Academic & Executive Functioning Coach to support our high school students in developing strong time management, organization, study, and goal-setting skills. The ideal candidate has a passion for helping young people grow academically and personally, an understanding of executive functioning challenges (such as procrastination, motivation, and time management), and the ability to provide guidance that promotes responsibility, focus, and confidence. Candidates with backgrounds in education, psychology, or counseling—especially those with experience working with adolescents—are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching sessions to help students strengthen executive functioning and academic skills
• Support students in areas such as time management, organization, planning, task initiation, and follow-through
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to create consistent support systems
• Help students establish routines and strategies for academic success
• Encourage accountability, self-advocacy, and goal setting
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with the academic support team
• Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional environment aligned with the school’s mission and values

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (Education, Psychology, or related field preferred)
• Background in academic coaching, counseling, or teaching
• Strong understanding of executive functioning and learning strategies
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to connect with high school students and maintain firm but supportive boundaries
• Experience working with neurodivergent learners (ADHD, anxiety, etc.) a plus
• Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education
