Job Description

Banner Ridge is seeking a high-performing and self-motivated Investment Analyst to join its Secondaries / Underwriting investment team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and entrepreneurial, with strong investment acumen and a passion for working within an opportunistic investment mandate at a growing, collaborative firm.The primary responsibilities include:

  • Conducting in-depth research and analysis on potential investments across different transaction types, industries and securities throughout the capital structure
  • Working in small deal teams to complete thorough due diligence efforts, including frequent interaction with private equity fund managers, company management teams and industry experts
  • Building, maintaining and updating advanced financial models in Excel for valuation and return analysis of portfolios and single assets, including secondaries, credit and leveraged buyout models
  • Preparing extensive investment memoranda, presentations and other materials summarizing the investment analysis outputs and providing investment recommendations and discussing the investment thesis in front of the investment committee
  • Participating in deal structuring, valuation and execution processes
  • Assisting with portfolio management and ongoing monitoring of fund interests and underlying portfolio companies through continuous review of reports, financial statements and public disclosures
  • Maintaining and updating the firms deal pipeline database to ensure accuracy and completeness of all relevant data
  • Actively contributing to the teams collaborative culture by generating and sharing actionable investment ideas across strategies

Key Attributes & Requirements

  • 0.5-2 years of relevant experience in a finance-related role, including investment banking, private equity, private credit, consulting and/or secondaries
  • Bachelors degree from a leading university with a strong academic record;majors in economics, finance or mathematics preferred
  • Demonstrated financial modeling expertise commensurate with sophisticated investment analysis
  • Strong intellectual and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to structure and solve complex problems and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, a strong work ethic and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Available for full-time, on-site employment at the firms Midtown Manhattan office (five days per week)
