Overview:

Role: Part-Time School Cleaner

Pay Rate: $20/hr

Hours: Mon-Fri (4-9pm or 5-10pm)

Location: 50 Prospect Park W Brooklyn NY

Responsibilities

• Carry out janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Utilize protective gear during all cleaning tasks.
• Complete cleaning assignments in a timely manner.
• Notify supervisors regarding equipment needs or cleaning product shortages.
• Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms and common areas.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, and common spaces thoroughly.
• Empty trash cans and dispose of waste responsibly.
• Respond promptly to requests and alerts via the paging system.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sanitary environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work, especially in a school environment, is preferred.
• Ability to follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
• Willingness to consistently perform routine cleaning tasks.
• Competence to complete assignments independently following training.
• Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts are essential.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours each day.
• Capability to lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working around food and cleaning products.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements as per state, local, and/or customer policies.
• A criminal background check will be required.
