Job Requirements

Required License

Registered Nurse

• Current Registered Nurse Licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky OR a Current Registered Nurse Licensure with a multistate compact status.

Required Skills Certifications:

• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (or) obtained within 90 days after hire date.
• Successfully pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days after hire date.

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

• Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Essential Functions

• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Ability to formulate and individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family following chain of command as appropriate.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting the patient's rights.
