This role sits within a centralized Release Management team (not embedded in individual squads) and plays a critical role in coordinating production releases, enforcing release discipline, and serving as the single source of truth for release readiness. • Enforce release processes and timelines, including pushing back on risky, oversized, or out-of-cycle release requests when necessary.
  • Track release progress, risks, blockers, and hotfixes using Jira dashboards and Confluence documentation.
  • Adapt release processes based on platform-specific needs (e.g., app store approvals for Android, longer QA cycles for TV apps, faster web releases).
  • Deliver clear, concise, executive-facing release updates and status reporting.
  • Contribute to release management best practices and support discipline-wide upskilling and process improvement initiatives.

Must-Have Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Release Management or a closely related role (QA Manager, Release Engineer, Delivery Manager, Program Manager).
  • Proven experience owning production releases and deployment cycles.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) .
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, release trains, and deployment workflows .
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to manage up and influence without authority.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required .
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred:

  • Experience supporting mobile application releases (App Store / Play Store).
  • Exposure to Airtable or strong Excel skills with a willingness to learn Airtable .
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification (highly valued).
  • Experience in streaming, media, or entertainment environments (nice to have, not required).
  • Change management experience.

What the Right Candidate Will Enjoy:

  • Playing a critical role in the delivery of products used by millions of customers worldwide!
  • Working within a collaborative, experienced, and opinionated Release Management team!
  • Having real influence over release quality, cadence, and risk management decisions!
  • Operating in an environment that values confidence, ownership, and thoughtful process!
  • Long-term contract opportunity with conversion potential and access to employee perks if converted!
