Alliance Interstate Risk Service (AIR) is expanding due to program growth and partnerships with state trucking associations. We are currently seeking a Transportation Safety Risk Manager based in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. This role is a vital part of the AIR team, serving as the eyes and ears of our workers’ compensation program. The Risk Manager supports our Underwriting Team by assessing potential insureds and providing ongoing safety and risk control services to current program participants. Key Responsibilities: Conduct assessments and prequalification visits for prospective insureds to determine program eligibility. Schedule and perform regular visits with current insureds to monitor safety practices and progress on recommendations. Investigate accident trends and develop plans to engineer out and prevent accidents and injuries from occurring. Build strong relationships with insureds’ management and safety teams, clearly communicating program expectations. Assist Underwriting with ongoing risk evaluations and report operational changes. Extensive travel within the assigned territory, including overnight travel is required. Assist in growth throughout Tennessee and surrounding states through visits with insurance agency partners, collaboration with state trucking association(s), and prospecting potential clients. Qualifications: Experience in loss control, safety, and risk management (behavior-based experience a plus). Knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance and transportation safety compliance. CDS (Certified Director of Safety) and TRS (Transportation Risk Specialist) designations preferred; AIR will support obtaining these within the first 90 days if not already held. Strong presentation and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and policy administration software. Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
