Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with ECMO specialist expertise for a pediatric unit, requiring a MI RN license and EPIC proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work as an ECMO Specialist in a pediatric hospital unit
• Care for pediatric patients on ECMO; occasional adult patient coverage with a remote care model
• Patient ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2 for pediatric circuits, and 1:3 for adults
• Uses EPIC electronic medical record system
• Day shifts with alternating weekly schedules: 3x12-hour shifts one week and 2x12-hour shifts the next
• Required to work two weekends per four-week scheduling period
• No floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Provide ECMO specialist care to pediatric patients and occasional adult patients using established clinical protocols
• Day-to-day responsibilities include circuit management, troubleshooting, and patient assessment
• First-time travelers with ECMO specialist experience will be considered
• Must not have been employed by the client facility within the past 12 months
• Department communicates specific flu shot deadlines if in season

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an ECMO specialist
• Previous ECMO experience in an urban or academic medical center required
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Flu vaccination is mandatory with no exemptions permitted
• Two professional references from a manager or supervisor are required and must be recent
