Position Summary Under the supervision of the Sterile Processing Supervisor, the Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for supporting daily departmental operations by ensuring proper cleaning, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of medical instrumentation. This role requires adherence to hospital policies, sterile processing standards, and effective communication with team members to support safe surgical services.
Key Responsibilities - Clean, decontaminate, assemble, and prepare instruments for sterilization
- Transport soiled and sterile instruments to and from the operating room
- Follow established policies, procedures, and infection control standards
- Maintain competency in sterile processing techniques and workflows
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and leadership
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff
Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of sterile processing experience
- BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
- CSPDT certification encouraged within 18 months of hire
- Ability to work evening shifts and holidays as scheduled
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information - Travelers residing within 50 miles may be subject to a reduced local rate
- Up to 16 hours of orientation may be unpaid
- Contract may allow cancellation of up to 3 shifts within a 13-week assignment
