Title: Jr. REL Instructional Designer (Instructional Designer I)
Contract: 6-month W-2 (includes 56 hrs PTO) – no overtime
Locations (Hybrid | Onsite 2 days/week):
Vienna, VA – $25–30/hr (bill rate cap $57/hr)
Winchester, VA – $25–30/hr (bill rate cap $52/hr)
Pensacola, FL – $22–25/hr (bill rate cap $47/hr)
Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Work Authorization: US Citizen, Green Card, Green Card EAD, TN Visa

Role Purpose
Design, develop, and evaluate engaging learning solutions that drive performance across Navy Federal business units. Apply adult-learning theory and instructional design best practices to create instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with SMEs and trainers to plan and design courses, curricula, and multimedia learning products.
Conduct needs assessments, establish learning objectives, and recommend blended instructional approaches (ILT/VILT, e-learning, job aids, games, simulations).
Develop and test content, graphics, and interactive elements; create LMS activities, assignments, and custom reports.
Evaluate course effectiveness and incorporate feedback into updates.
Provide guidance to trainers and present to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Education, Communications, Business, Behavioral Sciences, Instructional Design, or equivalent experience.
1–5 years’ experience in instructional design with adult-learning focus.
Strong knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, and design models.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Advanced skills in needs assessment, content development, and course evaluation.
Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills; ability to explain processes clearly.
Proficiency with LMS administration, presentation tools, and MS Office/Google Workspace.
Desired: Experience creating multimedia training; familiarity with Navy Federal products, services, and procedures.
