Under the general supervision of the Director of Administration, the Records Analyst provides a wide variety of customer service and clerical support duties to the Police Department. The Records Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and processing of police department records, assists with compiling statistics and information for the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting, National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), Clery Act reports, UC System-wide reports, State and Federal Public Records act complainants and monthly statistical reports.

Required:

• Knowledge of records management principles and practices.
• Limited experience with automated storage and retrieval systems, and electronic records.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite and general office applications.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to work independently, handling multiple priorities and meeting established timeframes.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
• Ability to use a high level of discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to produce memos, reports, letters, and email correspondence in a clear, concise, logical and grammatically correct manner.
• Associates degree in related field and / or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years Records Information Management or related field

Preferred:

• Experience in Public Records Act.
• Knowledge of POST, C.L.E.A.R.S. and C.L.E.W. organizations.
• Experience working in law enforcement.
• Knowledge of the various University Departments and their functions within the University and University Policies and Procedures.
• POST certified Basic Records Clerk Course training certificate

Special Conditions:

• Must complete and successfully pass a law enforcement level background check.
• Employee must successfully complete a one-week POST certified Basic Records Clerk course, Public Records Act training, and California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) training within six (6) months of employment.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $31.48-$33.71 (Hourly)
