The Clinical Nurse Educator (RN) is a registered nurse (RN) who serves as an instructor for other nurses and support clinical staff. The duties include developing lesson plans, giving lectures and evaluating the staff in clinical settings and through examinations and assignments. The Clinical Nurse Educator (RN) will conduct training across the organization for medical staff in person, seminars or classes, hands of demonstration and virtual learning.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Nursing Education 70%
  • Coordinates and performs educational activities that promote the competency and development of TrueCare medical staff, including orientation, competency validation, in service training education.
  • Evaluate and check support staff on clinical skills competencies.
  • Initiates skills development programs within the parameters of our PCMH and/or Team Based care model by implementing educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate in service training and workshops for proper staff.
  • Serve as a clinical instructor for TrueCare medical staff.
  • Participate in the teaching and assessment of annual mandatory skill/competencies.
  • Develop and keep clinical education resources.
  • Delivers educational activities that validate, develop, maintain and enhance the knowledge and skills of nursing staff.
  • Consults with Director of Nursing to provide clinical input, and training in professional development programs.
  • Participate and collaborate and/or update the development of Team Base Care program within TrueCare to enhance Medical Assistant career ladder.
  • Provide training and education for staff members on different sites as needed.
  • Participate and collaborate on the education for clinical and non-clinical staff providing education specific to health maintenance and chronic disease management at the direction of Director of Nursing or Associate Chief Medical Officer
  • Follow TrueCare policies and procedures for efficient department operations, reporting requirements and keeping quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Staying up to date on the latest advances in medicine and changes to best practice standards for patient care.
  • Provide education to help clinical professionals uphold organizational standards and practices and keep their clinical competencies.
  • Able to work independently on weekends as needed.

Support to Director of Nursing: 20 %

  • Help in developing workflows relates to assigned projects and/or to support internal process improvement initiatives.
  • Promotes adherence to TrueCare’s organization policies, procedures and standards.
  • Give directions to medical assistants about procedures and protocols as needed.
  • Primary resource nurse for other nursing/office personnel in areas of patient triage advice, emergency situations, overall patient care.
  • Provide support for TrueCare Community Engagement department through community, screenings, vaccinations, and health education.
  • Participates in and leads various task forces to improve workflows and enhance staff experience.

Quality Assurance: 10%

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by finding areas for improvement and taking part in performance activities.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare facility to find areas for improvement and implement changes that enhance the quality of patient care.
  • Adhering to organizational policies and procedures to ensure consistency in nursing practices and promotes a standardized approach to care
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in nursing (AND) from an accredited program.
  • Two (2) to Three (3) years’ clinical nursing experience in an outpatient care setting or ambulatory care.
  • Well-developed people skills to engage and inspire medical staff.
  • Computer ability, particularly with Electronic Health/Medical Record systems and the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Word.
  • Current California State Board RN license.
  • May be needed to travel between all TrueCare’ s sites and locations therefore California Driver’s License, proof of valid insurance and clean driving record needed.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Community clinic experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, legal and technical aspects of a medical records system, and ICD-10 and CPT codes.

The pay range for this role is $48.78 - $73.17 on an hourly basis.
