Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Steel Detailer is to prepare detailed drawings and other documents for the fabrication and erection of steel members used in the construction of buildings and various structures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Report to work prepared and on-time daily.
• Must be organized and self-directed in their work.
• Work with other members of the detailing team and other divisions to manage complex projects.
• Produce accurate reports, shop, and erection drawings within an estimated timeframe.
• Prepare precise, complete, and detailed drawing packages for projects being submitted for approval and fabrication per LB detailing and drawing standards.
• Interpret fabrication requirements for structural steel using, specifications, industry codes, drawings and instructions from project managers, engineers, and architects.
• Participate in BIM coordination meeting and pre-construction phase of projects to discuss Constructability and identify potential issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• Strong ability to interpret complex structural and architectural drawings and translate them into accurate fabrication details
• Advance proficiency with Tekla Structures or other AutoCAD detailing software
• Strong understanding of AISC, AWS, and other relevant industry standards
• 5+ of experience in steel detailing.
